It's a spiker and is used to hold your drinks at the beach. My family is going on a big vacation in July and I plan to get a lot of use out of this!! I rarely get to make myself items, but have made a couple over the past week. I'll add a few pics of the other thing I made and a few other things I've been working on. A drink at the beach
So, one of the businesses that I do is a little company called Daisygirl Designs. I love this business and it's not something I ever thought I'd do in my life. Before kids I was an accountant. I have my MBA…. I don't use any of that anymore and I get to have fun and make things and be creative! I'm working on a few things now and It's so much fun!! I made this today...

Did he just say that??
I've always loved tiny newborn babies. I love to hold and cuddle and snuggle them. Then give them to mommy or daddy when they start crying or if they stink. But I think as a parent my most favorite thing is hearing the things my kids have to say. The way they think words are said. How they view the world. Just about anything they say - especially when they are first starting to really talk is just too cute!!
I always wanted to write it all down, but like most people I didn't have my pen and paper always by my side. But I did usually have my phone/ipad/laptop nearby and could post it to Facebook before I forgot what they said. I will periodically go back and copy them all into a word document I have for each kid, but now I don't have to forget the cute things that they say. I'm gonna share a few here… I'd love to hear some things you've saved that your kids have said too!
My current favorite thing my 5 year old says is - Hamraham Blinkin… Blinky. AKA - Abraham Lincoln. He's said this for at least two years. He gets so excited when he sees him. Has the lego figure. And loved learning about him this year in Kindergarten.
"Gleaking" - according to my 5 year old this is what happens when you have a scraped ankle and there is stuff "gleaking" out of the bandaid onto his sock…
Mohog = Mohawk (it's also been called a groundhog)
Here's an oldie from my 7 year old…
9/14/11 -
David,"Jax, what is this sticky stuff on the iPad?"
Jax: I did it,
David: What is it?
Jax: It's boogers
Kids are gross. And I will share more randomly. Believe me… I have lots and lots of awesome things my kids have said! Now…comment with yours! :)

Have I mentioned I'm trying to become a runner. I'm gonna be 40 in June and just basically started "running" last year. I ran 5 5k's in 2015. Well, I completed 5… I can't run a full 5k yet. My "while I'm 40 bucket list" item is to complete the Disney Princess Half Marathon in February 2017. I'm loving seeing all the pictures of friends and strangers getting ready for it this weekend! I really want to do the challenge - I think it's a 5k/10k/half marathon in the same weekend. That would be amazing…especially for me.
So anyway…I plan to run a 10k in April to get a time to submit when I sign up in July. I started couch to 10k… I'm gonna finish week 3 today. I'm doing it. so far so good. well…so far so ok. I did struggle with week 3 day 2 and had to do it twice, but that's ok. I'm not stressing…I'm just trying and doing my best. I'm lucky that I have a great friend doing it with me… and my husband is too!
I will be spending a lot of time on the Run Disney website and some local Facebook groups to prepare. I will eventually look into some of the training that Jeff Galloway does once I get past the 10k. I am hoping I can get some more friends to do it to and make a fun grown up weekend (long one) out of the experience!
Do you have any tips or advice to offer?
So far this year I have a 10k on the books and will be signing up for a 6 race series in the next month or so that will span May-October. I figure I will add another 10k to the mix somewhere as well. I do not want to do another half marathon before the big one… that may be my only one so I want it to be special to me.
Well, it's time to finish up week 3. I'm looking forward to reading any encouragement you guys have to offer!

Dreaming of the beach
It's snowing here today. I know no one wants to hear me complain about winter in Georgia, but I'm gonna - kind of - anyway! I am very anti-cold. So, let's think about the beach :) This picture is a few years old, but it's our collection of sand from the beaches that my husband and I have been to since we have been married. There are a few missing. And as our 10 year anniversary approaches this summer I'm excited to have new sand to add to it in July! We have booked our vacation with a friend - Caroline at Easy Escapes Travel. She was so helpful in helping us decide where to go within our budget. So we are going to Mexico and taking our boys. They are so excited to fly on an airplane and to go where they speak Spanish. I told them that a lot of people know/speak English there but we can learn some words before we go if they want.
My in-laws are going with us. We have a lot to celebrate in 2016!! Our 10 year anniversary, my 40th birthday, my in-laws 40th anniversary and my mother in law's 60th birthday! I can't wait. And knowing we are going helps me get through the cold blah months of winter.
So, yes - I'm in the minority of people around here that are not a fan of the snow or the cooler temps, but you will not see me complain in the summer…no matter how hot it is! Ok…maybe if our A/C broke or if it rains too much.
It's time to go pick up the kids… and see how excited they were to see the snow at school today. Here is a funny picture I put together today… the left is a snow day in January and the right is today…and they were at school all day.
39 days until Spring. 39 days until Spring…
A Daisy and some Stinkbugs
So…I live in a house full of boys. My husband, two sons, our dog… even our tiny pet frog is a boy. Well, I guess I don't know that for sure, but his name is Mario and has lived 1.5 years longer than we were told when he moved in with us. He must really like it here.
Life with boys wasn't what I imaged I'd have when I grew up with six brothers (and two sisters) but I do love it. I love my boys and laugh every day at something my babies do or say. God truly knows what you need - even when you don't :)
I'm starting a blog just to get my thoughts out… Could be about the kids. Could be about all my "jobs". Could be random thoughts about something crazy I have heard or read. Maybe one day I'll be able to add things that my readers think about too. Especially what their kids say. I love that the most.
Today I just want to say Hi and ease into chatting on a blog again. I'm not a writer by nature, but some days I feel like I have some things to share. And it's fun to have an outlet other than Facebook.
Talk at ya soon!
